The image above cracks me up. Can you imagine chillin’ out at your desk, chatting on the phone to a customer and having that guy looking over your shoulder all day? Maybe you can! Maybe you did something about it. Have you recently quit your job because it felt like you were working at the Deathstar Inc.? Was the stench of desperation clinging to the employees?Did this palpable sense of dread pervade the work environment until you fled the empire to begin your very own startup?
If this sounds like you, we want to share some business startup wisdom from the force to inspire you.
Always in motion is the future – Keep any analysis simple and focused. Analyze just enough to keep you moving forward.
Luke, the Force runs strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned – Build a team that shares your vision and values. You will be venturing into the galaxy with these people, make sure the bonds that keep you together are strong.
Use the force, Luke – The power struggle within the Empire must answer to a greater power, but like Luke, you have total freedom to go with your gut, so use the force and avoid paralysis by analysis. Never underestimate the power of the force.
Who’s the more foolish, the fool? Or the fool who follows him? – Use reliable source material and go straight to essential data.
Already know you that which you need. – Let your past decisions to guide you. As an entrepreneur, leading your start-up has to be from the inside and managing with a strong reliance on your intuition. Trust in what you already know, stick to your principles and you’ll do fine.
Great kid, don’t get cocky – Sometimes your competition looks disorganized and scattered, don’t get too close to the death star, you may get caught in their tractor beam and find a fully functional battle station.
As an extra bit of motivation, we’ll include this little nugget from Yoda: “Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.” How many people can support their family with good intentions? You must fail to succeed. You must make mistakes to learn. Forget about try, do.
